We engaged Stuart Emmins and the team at Corvus Primesite to deliver our architecturally designed family home at North Curl Curl – a modern, 5-bedroom executive residence designed by Gartner Trovato Architects, featuring multiple living areas, ocean views, a north-facing yard, inground pool, bespoke basement spaces and integrated finishes throughout. Our relationship with Stuart spanned several years prior to committing to the build. During this time, and particularly through the tender phase, Stuart demonstrated a high level of professionalism, transparency, and practical expertise. His advice on constructability, value engineering and cost optimisation was both thoughtful and highly effective, helping us refine the design while preserving the integrity of the architectural vision. A defining aspect of this project was that our family was based in Hong Kong for the duration of the build. We appreciated some Clients may be hesitant to appoint a builder to fully lead, manage and deliver a project in Australia while we were living overseas however Stuart and his team, including Site Project Manager Matt Sernig, consistently justified that trust. Throughout construction, communication was excellent. Regular updates via Teams, email and phone ensured full transparency on progress, decisions, and key milestones. Stuart was always accessible and highly responsive, and he made effort to align with our time zone and availability. During our limited visits to site, he provided hands-on support across a range of bespoke design and procurement decisions – from marble benchtops and gas fireplaces to polished concrete flooring, architectural lighting, pool finishes and complex detailing elements such as the floating stairwells and castellated wall/ceiling features. As the project approached completion, the team maintained a strong focus on quality and execution, while also accommodating late-stage refinements as the home came to life. Despite a demanding timeline, their attention to detail and commitment to delivering to program remained consistent. Importantly, their support has continued post-completion. Stuart and Matt have remained engaged and responsive, helping us to ensure the home performs as intended and continues to meet the evolving needs of our family.
